SBMS Postdoc pagesThe mission of the School is "Achieving excellence in biomedical research and teaching" and we recognise the highly-valued part research staff play in that. The School aims to foster the development of its Research Staff and is committed to providing support for individuals to enhance their research achievements and future careers. We provide opportunities for Research Staff to contribute to School policy, and to gain advanced experience in teaching (both formal and lab-based project) and administration. To facilitate this, the School hosts a Post Doc Forum with Academic Staff, Research Staff and HR representatives for discussion of Research Staff issues, and an active Post Doc Society. We provide a framework to support Research Staff by co-ordinating Research Staff appraisals, recording Research Staff contributions to teaching and administration and ensuring representation on the School Policy and Resources Committee. In liaison with HR we are developing suitable training opportunities to enhance Research Staff skills in project management, teaching and administration. The School Research Staff are based in various centres and locations including the CIP, CCNS, CID, CNR and DPM Information for Research Staff
